Create a work order
Prepare a visit with the client, location and service to carry out.
On this page
Before you start
- Create the client and required locations. Check available equipment, items and technicians.
Choose client and location
Open New Work Order and choose the client. Select the work location when there is more than one site. Check the address: this is where the team will carry out the service.
Prepare the service
Add items or text lines describing the service. Select equipment where that option is available. Use Internal Notes for team instructions and enter the client’s order reference if there is one.
Assign and schedule
Select technicians, the scheduled date and the due date where applicable. Review the person responsible for administration and signing technician if you use that option. You can complete planning later in the work order record.
Review communications and create
Check whether to send the order confirmation; enable that option only when you want to communicate with the client. Save the work order and open the new record to check the location, team and tasks.
Check the result
The work order receives a number and appears in the list. Its record brings together the details needed to prepare the visit.
If something gets in the way
Is there an error when you create the work order?
Read the message and check required fields. If a plan limit or permission is involved, ask an administrator to review it. Before retrying, check the list to make sure the work order was not created.
